Don't Panic

Thousands in Gulf Suffer Skin Lesions

"One thirty-three year-old woman, who wished to remain anonymous, has disclosed to Project Gulf Impact that upon seeking medical advice at a clinic, she was told she had scabies. Hours later, she was told by an area hospital that she had a staph infection. The woman was treated with a shot of penicillin and Elimite cream, a topical agent for the treatment of scabies mite infestations, and an oral antibiotic. In addition to the lesions, the woman reported aching bones, weight loss, stomach pains, inflammation in her leg and sties developing in her eyes."

Not to worry, Gulf Coast residents -- BP and Barry Soetoro say that the oil disaster is over. The pustules on your arms and legs aren't because of the Corexit, even though your symptoms are known effects of exposure to the dispersant. You won't have to worry about trivial things like skyrocketing cancer and miscarriage rates, and certainly no one will die from BP's criminal use of over 40 million gallons of the poison.

Think about what Corexit, as a dispersant, does -- it is designed to attach to oil and break it up into smaller bits. Think about what your body is made up of. Cells, each with a membrane made up of fatty acids, in other words, a type of oil. Now consider what Corexit does to you at a molecular level -- it breaks down your cell membranes. It kills you in high enough concentration, and it does to you what you can see has happened to the poor woman whose photograph appears in this article.

Except that it doesn't and it won't, because "Obama" says everything is fine. So it's off to golf course or another vacation for him. And if your skin breaks out in terrible sores it must be your fault for being allergic to your body soap or contracting scabies. It's certainly not BP's and his fault. And if you do blame them, you are a racist.
